President’s Welcome

Welcome to the Association of the United States Army and the Carlisle Barracks and Cumberland Valley Chapter!

As most of us are trying to break free from the previous COVID restrictions and trying to get back to “normal,” we have had to continue to be cautious about our activities.  However, as AUSA national announced last year, we are continuing our “Welcome Back” campaign!

Therefore, I would ask you to consider joining our team as advocates for a strong Army, focused on supporting Soldiers and their families, and our Vetrens.  Despite ongoing challenges, we will continue our efforts to educate those we serve, inform the community and Congress regarding the value and need for a strong Army, and connect all willing to help support and promote the total Army.

As we embark on the new AUSA operational year that runs July 2022 to Jun 2023, we are encouraged by the interest, participation, and continued generosity of the Association and Chapter members, and we look forward to another great year!  While we try to offer many activities, we remain focused on several key objectives:

  • Enhancing the Army War College experience for our emerging senior leaders
  • Supporting Soldiers and their families, Retirees, and Veterans
  • Fostering a caring community committed to those who support the Army
  • Promoting education and awareness of important Army issues

As with any volunteer and non-profit organization, we are only as strong as our membership.  We, therefore, must rely on the good graces of members who are ready and willing to step up and support our activities.  Accordingly, I am asking once again for your willingness to share your ideas and time – please let us know how you can support our efforts!  Whether you can volunteer for a specific event or would like to get more involved as a Chapter Board member, we would love to have you and I highly encourage you to give me a call or send me an email.

Funds raised from our annual golf outing (typically held on a Saturday during the third week in August) are used to support Chapter events to benefit Soldiers and their families, Veterans, and the local community.

As I highlighted after I was sworn in as your new President, I am honored to serve the Chapter and will do my best to support the Army and serve Soldiers, their families and Veterans in the local community.  I am also seeking your continued support and help – as we work together to make this Chapter the best it can be.

Please let me know what you think and if you have any questions, concerns, or have any feedback, I would like to hear from you. Please contact us to make suggestions, request information about AUSA and the Carlisle Barracks and Cumberland Valley Chapter, or ask questions about our website.
