2016 Golf Outing – Big Success!

The Chapter’s Summer 2016 Golf Outing & Get Acquainted Scramble was held on August 27th at our normal venue, the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course.  Like previous year’s, this year’s event was the sole fundraising event for the Chapter and it proved to be a great success, raising almost $15,000!

Thank you for an outstanding event!

We are very grateful to all our Sponsors, Donors, Board Members, Friends of the Chapter, and the many golfers who participated in our 2016 Annual Get Acquainted Scramble.  And a special thanks to our own Robert Byrne and Sunny Sloan for making this fundraiser possible!

While the event was a fund raiser, the cost to enter was minimal; only $30.00 for club members and $50.00 for non-members and this price included the tournament entry fee, lunch, prizes,  carts and green fees (for nonmembers).  We hope, by keeping the cost low, to encourage participation by as many active soldiers, retirees and civilians as possible in the area. The minimum cost of hole sponsorship was also very modest, $100.00.  We offered sponsors the opportunity to contribute at five different levels this year: Army Green, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum (See sponsorship list below).  Our distinctive hole sponsor signs recognized the support of our Sponsors and provided them with attractive, low-cost advertising for their business or organization.

The 2016 Annual Get Acquainted Scramble enjoyed ideal weather conditions and the course was in magnificent shape, thanks to Terry Myers and his staff.  Once again, the turnout was outstanding with approximately 104 players taking the course for the competition. Since the golf outing is the Chapter’s main source of revenue each year, we were very pleased with the response from Chapter Corporate Members, local businesses and individuals to our request for Hole Sponsorships and Prize Donations.  We wish to acknowledge all who contributed to this record-setting year for the tournament. Thanks to the diligence of many Chapter Board Members and friends of the Chapter, we were fortunate to secure over fifty Hole Sponsorships:
