After assuming the Presidency, Bob Hume thanked the membership and promised to do his best to uphold the traditions of the Chapter as he worked on its behalf in representing Soldiers and promoting a strong Army,to rally our members to engage the local community and foster public support, and to support Army initiatives, Army Soldiers, their families, and Veterans.

Bob highlighted that the strength of the Chapter remained its members as he asked for help looking to the future.

“First, I have to say that it’s a great honor and I will do my best to sustain the traditions of the chapter as I seek ways to build upon the strong foundations you all have laid here in Carlisle and the broader Cumberland Valley community… Since the strength of any organization is derived from its members, I hope I can count on all of you to stay engaged and to help out in any way you can – whether it be in support of a particular program, or perhaps taking on a position on our board…  As I start my tenure as president, I would ask for your patience but also ask for your thoughts and ideas concerning the Chapter. Please let me know what you think and please don’t hesitate to provide your unsolicited guidance…  I am also seeking specific help in identifying new members for our Board.   So please let me know if you are interested.  While I can’t promise there is no work involved, I can guarantee you that we need the help and the chapter’s work is certainly important and very gratifying.”

“As we look to the future, I believe we can build upon and expand many of our programs – supporting soldiers and students at Carlisle Barracks and area military installations, supporting our local junior and senior Reserve Officers Training Corps programs, and continuing to work with the local community to support soldiers’ families, retirees and our veterans.”
