Golf Outing Success – Thank You!

Our Many Thanks to all who sponsored holes,
donated prizes, participated and bought raffle tickets!

This year’s 2017 Golf Outing & Get Acquainted Scramble was a big success with just over $16,000 raised to support Chapter activities!

Sunrise at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course – perfect weather for the August 26th Golf Scramble!

The event was held on August 26th at our normal venue, the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course.  Matthew Hoffman, the “Pro” at the course, provided prizes for the top six teams, long drives, straightest drive, and two closest to the pin awards.  While the event was a fund-raiser, the cost to enter was minimal — only $30.00 for club members and $50.00 for non-members and this price included the tournament entry fee, lunch, prizes, carts and green fees (for non-members).  We hope, by keeping the cost low, to encourage participation by as many active soldiers, retirees and civilians as possible in the area.

Signing-in and buying mulligans and extra raffle tickets!
Warming up on the driving range.

The minimum cost for hole sponsorship was also very modest at $100.00.  We offered sponsors the opportunity to contribute at five different levels this year: Army Green, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum (See sponsorship list below).  Our distinctive hole sponsor signs recognized the support of our Sponsors and provided them with attractive, low-cost advertising for their business or organization.

One of the many sponsorship signs.

The 2017 Annual Get Acquainted Scramble enjoyed ideal weather conditions and the course was in magnificent shape, thanks to Matt Hoffman and his staff.  Once again, the turnout was outstanding with 98 players taking the course for the competition. Since the golf outing is the Chapter’s main source of revenue each year, we were very pleased with the response from Chapter Corporate Members, local businesses and individuals to our request for Hole Sponsorships and Prize Donations.  We wish to acknowledge all who contributed to this record-setting year for the tournament. Thanks to the diligence of many Chapter Board Members and friends of the Chapter, we were fortunate to secure over 70 Hole Sponsorships:
